Description	mRNA Cap 2'-O-Methyltransferase transfers the methyl of methylation donator S-adenosylmethionine (SAM) to the ribose 2' OH group of the first transcribed nucleotide (Cap 0), producing a 2'-O-methylpurine cap (Cap1) at the 5' end of the transcripted RNA. Cap1 mRNA enhances the translation efficiency and minimizes the innate immune response in certain cells. The enzyme was purified from an E coli strain over-expressing a vaccinia virus PAPS gene.
