E. coli Uracil-DNA Glycosylase (UDG) catalyses the release of uracil from uracil-containing DNA. UDG efficiently hydrolyzes uracil from single-stranded or double-stranded DNA, but not from short oligonucleotides (<6 bases), or RNA substrates.
