Product Name Inorganic Pyrophosphatase (E. coli, Recombinant)
Catalog Number EG-193
Description Recombinant inorganic pyrophosphatase from Escherichia coli, expressed in E. coli and purified to high homogeneity. This enzyme catalyzes the hydrolysis of inorganic pyrophosphate (PPi) to orthophosphate (Pi), a critical reaction for driving biosynthetic processes and molecular biology workflows.
The enzyme is supplied in a buffered solution and is free of detectable exonuclease and endonuclease activities.
Synonyms Pyrophosphate phosphohydrolase, PPase, ppa, b4226, JW4185
Tag N-terminal 6xHis (if applicable)
Expression System E. coli
Molecular Weight ~20–22 kDa (monomer); native enzyme is a homohexamer (~120 kDa)[1][7]
Purity ≥95% by SDS-PAGE[5][7]
Specific Activity ≥3500 U/mg (typical)[5][6]
Cofactor Mg2+ required for activity[1][5][6]
Buffer/Formulation 20 mM Tris-HCl (pH 8.0), 1 mM DTT, 10% glycerol, 50 mM NaCl[5][7]

  • In vitro transcription (IVT) and RNA synthesis reactions
  • Removal of inhibitory pyrophosphate in DNA/RNA polymerase reactions
  • Biochemical and metabolic studies
  • Enzyme-coupled assays
